Quand on pense aux plus belles villes du monde, d\u00e9bordantes d\u2019architecture \u00e9blouissante et d\u2019urbanisme passionnant, Belgrade peut sembler rest\u00e9e dans l\u2019ombre des crises politico-sociales r\u00e9centes et d\u2019une transition post-communiste inachev\u00e9e. En cons\u00e9quence, les investissements manquent \u00e0 la ville, ce qui invite aux projets d\u2019architecture-star ou aux plans d\u2019urbanisme sophistiqu\u00e9s. Malgr\u00e9 ou gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cela, il y a beaucoup \u00e0 voir \u00e0 Belgrade.<\/p>\n

Belgrade est riche de contrastes et offre une diversit\u00e9 d\u2019identit\u00e9s m\u00eal\u00e9es passionnante.<\/p>\n

Parmi les lieux \u00e0 voir \u00e0 Belgrade, le centre historique, plac\u00e9 \u00e0 la confluence de la Sava et du Danube, est incontournable. Bien trop souvent, \u00e0 cause de son importance strat\u00e9gique de ville-fronti\u00e8re entre Orient et Occident, Belgrade \u00e9t\u00e9 conquise, d\u00e9truite et reconstruite, avec pour r\u00e9sultat une juxtaposition d\u2019architectures anciennes et de courants modernes, en qu\u00eate d\u2019identit\u00e9. Toutes les \u00e9poques se c\u00f4toient dans des b\u00e2timents qui semblent tout naturellement accol\u00e9s les uns aux autres.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur du centre historique, Belgrade offre un visage plus spacieux et plus sonore qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le l\u2019\u00e9volution et la modernisation rapide de la ville depuis la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 du 19e jusqu\u2019\u00e0 nos jours. \u00c0 l\u2019approche de la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie de la capitale serbe o\u00f9 vivent pr\u00e8s d\u2019un millions et demi d\u2019habitants, les probl\u00e8mes pos\u00e9s par l\u2019urbanisation socialiste et le d\u00e9clin des b\u00e2timents apparaissent clairement.<\/p>\n

La Nouvelle Belgrade, fond\u00e9e pour donner \u00e0 la Yougoslavie socialiste d\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre une capitale, est une vitrine g\u00e9n\u00e9rique politico-sociale de l\u2019ancien \u00e9tat. Cr\u00e9\u00e9e de A \u00e0 Z, suivant les principes de Le Corbusier pour son concept de Cit\u00e9 Radieuse, elle est une d\u00e9monstration du m\u00e9lange de modernisme, de brutalisme et d\u2019architecture contemporaine, un t\u00e9moignage de l\u2019impact sur l\u2019urbanisme d\u2019une \u00e9conomie informelle et d\u2019un entreprenariat naissant.<\/p>\n

L\u2019interaction entre ces diff\u00e9rentes identit\u00e9s urbaines, le d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre entre planification et improvisation, le curieux m\u00e9lange de caract\u00e9ristiques citadines et rurales pr\u00e9sentes \u00e0 Belgrade ont finalement d\u00e9fini les contours actuels de la ville.
