Un nouveau pont a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit \u00e0 Glasgow pour relier \u00e0 nouveau deux quartiers historiques, Govan et Partick, sur les rives oppos\u00e9es de la rivi\u00e8re Clyde. Le pont Govan-Partick est con\u00e7u pour permettre aux pi\u00e9tons et aux cyclistes de traverser la rivi\u00e8re sur la m\u00eame ligne qu’un service de ferry historique.<\/p>\n

Il s’agit d’une infrastructure importante non seulement pour les quartiers qu’il relie, mais aussi pour la relation entre la ville et la rivi\u00e8re. Govan et les zones voisines abritaient la majeure partie de l’industrie de la construction navale de Glasgow, l’utilisation des terres sur les rives de la rivi\u00e8re devenant incroyablement complexe. Le manque de clart\u00e9 sur le propri\u00e9taire du terrain et sur la mani\u00e8re dont il pourrait cr\u00e9er une ville plus connect\u00e9e est quelque chose qu’Empire Caf\u00e9<\/a> a tent\u00e9 de d\u00e9m\u00ealer \u00e0 travers son podcast \u00ab Who Owns the Clyde \u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Monuments et skateparks<\/h2>\n

Les cicatrices post-industrielles sont encore tr\u00e8s visibles le long des rives du fleuve malgr\u00e9 l’apparition de b\u00e2timents embl\u00e9matiques tels que l’OVO Hydro<\/a> et le SSE Armadillo<\/a> de Foster, le b\u00e2timent BBC<\/a> de Chipperfield et le Riverside Museum<\/a> de Zaha Hadid, auquel le nouveau pont est d\u00e9sormais directement reli\u00e9. L’architecture paysag\u00e8re r\u00e9ussie du Riverside Museum a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue \u00e0 l’origine par Gross.Max<\/a> et a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e avec et largement acclam\u00e9e par la communaut\u00e9 du skateboard. Cependant, la strat\u00e9gie plus large visant \u00e0 relier le Riverside Museum \u00e0 d’autres zones de la ville ne s’est pas concr\u00e9tis\u00e9e et ce nouveau pont contribue en partie \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre ce probl\u00e8me.<\/p>\n

Heritage de l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie | Un nouveau pont pour Glasgow<\/h3>\n

L’ing\u00e9nierie du pont est remarquable avec une construction en c\u00e2bles d’acier de 110 m de port\u00e9e qui s’ouvre pour permettre le passage des bateaux. Les passionn\u00e9s d’ing\u00e9nierie et les explorateurs de la ville peuvent faire une promenade en zigzag et en apprendre davantage sur tous les ponts de la ville en utilisant le sentier patrimonial \u00ab Glasgow’s Clyde Bridges<\/a> \u00bb d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par l’Institution of Civil Engineers. Nos visites guid\u00e9es de la ville int\u00e8grent souvent cet h\u00e9ritage dans la discussion sur l’urbanisme contemporain dans un endroit o\u00f9 l’on dit que \u00ab la rivi\u00e8re a fait la ville et la ville a fait la rivi\u00e8re \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Nos visites se sont \u00e9galement concentr\u00e9es sur une lecture des couches sociales \u00e0 mesure que l’on s’\u00e9loigne de l’industrie lourde de la rivi\u00e8re et sur la fa\u00e7on dont la conception urbaine et le logement historiques et contemporains r\u00e9pondent \u00e0 ces mod\u00e8les.<\/p>\n

Le pont a \u00e9t\u00e9 achev\u00e9 en septembre 2024 avec un co\u00fbt de construction de 29,5 millions de livres sterling via le projet Glasgow City Region City Deal – financ\u00e9 par les gouvernements \u00e9cossais et britannique. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u par Jacob’s pour le conseil municipal de Glasgow et construit par Farrans Construction.<\/p>\n
