La Foire de Belgrade, avec ses halls d’exposition et son concept urbain, est l’une des \u0153uvres les plus int\u00e9ressantes de l’architecture et de la construction serbes d’apr\u00e8s-guerre. Elle refl\u00e8te l’essor cr\u00e9atif et technique de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et de l’architecture \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1950 et au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1960 dans l’ex-Yougoslavie.
\nSitu\u00e9 dans un endroit attrayant sur la rive droite de la rivi\u00e8re Sava, pr\u00e8s du carrefour routier de la ville, entre les poumons verts de Belgrade et le centre, le complexe de la foire est facilement accessible et constitue un point de rep\u00e8re reconnaissable de la ville depuis plus de six d\u00e9cennies.<\/p>\n

Lors du concours d’architecture pour la foire de 1953, le premier prix a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019architecte Milorad Pantovi\u0107 et aux g\u00e9nies civiles Branko \u017de\u017eelj et Milan Krsti\u0107. Entant que jeune architecte, Pantovi\u0107 a travaill\u00e9 avec Le Corbusier et a acquis de l’exp\u00e9rience dans la conception de stades et d’installations industrielles.
\nLa construction de la Foire a commenc\u00e9 en 1953 et a dur\u00e9 quatre ans, sur une surface de 300,000m2. L’espace d’exposition, avec ses quatre halls, constitue une unit\u00e9 architecturale d’une surface de 40,000 m2. Chacun des b\u00e2timents est une solution constructive int\u00e9ressante, mais le plus impressionnant est certainement le Hall Un.<\/p>\n

Pantovi\u0107 cherchait une solution qui s’appuie sur les formes traditionnelles des d\u00f4mes byzantins. Le hall est de forme circulaire et recouvert d’un d\u00f4me pr\u00e9fabriqu\u00e9 en b\u00e9ton pr\u00e9contrainte. Le long des nervures de la coupole, on trouve des ronds dispos\u00e9s lin\u00e9airement et tout le long de l’anneau du sol de la salle, des supports en Y en b\u00e9ton. Avec une port\u00e9e de 109 m, une hauteur de 30,78 m et une \u00e9paisseur de moins de 10 cm au sommet, le Hall Un a \u00e9t\u00e9 pendant des ann\u00e9es la plus grande coupole du monde en b\u00e9ton pr\u00e9contrainte.<\/p>\n

La salle comporte plusieurs niveaux : le sous-sol, l’ar\u00e8ne, l’\u00e9tage et deux galeries. Le sous-sol abrite des salles de service, des entrep\u00f4ts et des bureaux, tandis que tous les autres niveaux servent d’espace d’exposition. La surface totale du hall est de 21,280 m2.<\/p>\n

Malheureusement, le panorama des d\u00f4mes de la foire de Belgrade dispara\u00eetra apr\u00e8s 2027. L’expansion du projet \u00ab\u00a0Belgrade Waterfront\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9voit la construction d’immeubles r\u00e9sidentiels sur le site de la foire. Bien que l’ensemble du complexe de la foire constitue une unit\u00e9 architecturale, seul le \u00ab\u00a0Hall Un\u00a0\u00bb, en raison de ses solutions architecturales et de sa construction, a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9clar\u00e9 monument culturel et plac\u00e9 sous protection. Il est envisag\u00e9 d’y installer l’op\u00e9ra de Belgrade.<\/p>\n
