Alors que plusieurs centres d’art rouvrent leur si\u00e8ge social sur l\u2019avenue Istiklal, la plus anim\u00e9e d\u2019Istamboul, le compte \u00e0 rebours de l\u2019inauguration de la 4\u00e8me Biennale du Design d\u2019Istamboul est lanc\u00e9. Du 22\/09 au 4\/11 2018 la biennale intitul\u00e9e \u00ab Une \u00c9cole des \u00c9coles <\/a>\u00bb investira la totalit\u00e9 du quartier et l’immeuble YKKS r\u00e9cemment rouvert au centre de l\u2019avenue en sera l’un des sites principaux.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9ouverture du Centre Culturel Yapi Kredi (YKKS)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La population locale conna\u00eet bien l\u2019immeuble YKKS puisqu\u2019il existe depuis les ann\u00e9es 1950, mais c\u2019est enti\u00e8rement relook\u00e9 par Teget-Architects que le centre a rouvert au public en 2017. \u00ab Teget<\/a> transforme un insipide \u00e9tablissement bancaire en Centre Culturel Yapi Kredi et signe une provocation culturelle exp\u00e9rimentale \u00bb, \u00e9crit l\u2019Architectural Review.<\/p>\n

Les appartements n\u00e9o-classiques qui occupaient la parcelle depuis le d\u00e9but du 20e si\u00e8cle ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9molis dans les ann\u00e9es 1950 et remplac\u00e9s par un immeuble de bureaux rationaliste pour Yap\u0131 Kredi, quatri\u00e8me banque publique turque, grand m\u00e9c\u00e8ne des arts visuels et litt\u00e9raires et propri\u00e9taire d\u2019une importante collection d’\u0153uvres d’art. Son concepteur, l\u2019architecte allemand Paul Schmiade, a ouvert un portique donnant sur la rue.<\/p>\n

Les d\u00e9fis de nouveaux projets culturels <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ce projet bouscule une culture du b\u00e2timent qui domine \u00e0 Istamboul et favorise les assertions populistes \u00e0 la gloire de la nouveaut\u00e9 clinquante ou des fa\u00e7ades \u00ab historicis\u00e9es \u00bb de centres commerciaux. \u00c0 l\u2019encontre des recommandations du maire de la ville et du conseil du patrimoine pr\u00e9conisant la d\u00e9molition du b\u00e2timent de Schmitthenner, Teget a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de travailler \u00e0 partir de l’ext\u00e9rieur rationaliste et d\u2019une partie de la structure int\u00e9rieure. En fa\u00e7ade Nord, un mur-rideau de verre haut de 6 \u00e9tages ouvre ce qui ressemblait \u00e0 une bo\u00eete sur une place et cr\u00e9e un point d\u2019attraction clair. Le b\u00e2timent invite \u00e0 go\u00fbter l’atmosph\u00e8re des nouvelles expositions, d\u2019une biblioth\u00e8que et d\u2019une belle librairie.<\/p>\n

En dehors de l\u2019YKKS, il y a beaucoup de mouvement sur les lieux culturels d\u2019Istiklal en ce moment. Salt Beyo\u011flu<\/a> a r\u00e9cemment rouvert ses portes et le Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art moderne d\u2019Istamboul<\/a> occupe temporairement de nouveaux locaux en face du Pera Palace Hotel, avant d\u2019emm\u00e9nager dans deux ans dans un nouveau mus\u00e9e con\u00e7u par Renzo Piano.<\/p>\n

Visiteurs professionnels avertis et amateurs devraient profiter de cette ann\u00e9e pour faire une visite architecturale guid\u00e9e du quartier. Avec tous les projets de r\u00e9novation men\u00e9s par des cabinets d\u2019architectes locaux de premier plan, les expositions et les \u00e9v\u00e9nements artistiques programm\u00e9s en ce moment \u00e0 Istamboul, on croirait assister \u00e0 une \u00e9cole du go\u00fbt en mati\u00e8re d\u2019architecture contemporaine.
