Lors de l&rsquo;inondation d\u00e9sastreuse de 2002, la rivi\u00e8re retourna dans son ancien lit. Tout le quartier resta envahi par les eaux pendant plusieurs semaines. Les habitants furent \u00e9vacu\u00e9s et un certain nombre de maisons d\u00e9molies. Paradoxalement, cette catastrophe engendra une renaissance int\u00e9grale de ce quartier n\u00e9glig\u00e9. Les halls d&rsquo;usine d\u00e9saffect\u00e9s furent transform\u00e9s en immeubles de bureaux et d\u2019habitation ou en lieux culturels. Aujourd\u2019hui, l\u2019architecture moderne est devenue un outil pour la municipalit\u00e9 comme pour les investisseurs et a fait de cette partie d\u00e9cr\u00e9pite de la ville un lieu de vie et de travail agr\u00e9able.
