Das Hauptziel seiner Renovierung (EMBT Enric Miralles &amp; Benedetta Tagliabue, 2005) lag darin, ein heruntergekommenes historisches Stadtviertel durch Schaffung von \u00f6ffentlichem Raum und den Bau von Seniorenwohnungen zu revitalisieren. Copyright: Daniele Ansidei<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Im Jahr 1876 fertiggestellt, gilt der <em>Mercat del Born<\/em> als erstes Beispiel moderner Glas-und-Eisen-Architektur in Barcelona. Die Pl\u00e4ne zur Unterbringung einer Bibliothek im Geb\u00e4ude wurden 2002 fallengelassen, nachdem man bei vorbereitenden Bodenarbeiten auf mittelalterliche Ruinen gesto\u00dfen war. Stattdessen wurde die ehemalige Markthalle in <em>El Born Centre de Cultura i Mem\u00f2ria<\/em> (Enric S\u00f2ria, Rafael C\u00e1ceres, 2013) umgewandelt . Der <em>Nou Mercat dels Encants<\/em> (b720 Ferm\u00edn V\u00e1zquez, 2013) inszeniert sich als offene B\u00fchne unter einem riesigen, mehrfach gefalteten Dach. Sein kreuzf\u00f6rmiger Grundriss nimmt einen ganzen Block im Stadtteil Eixample ein und macht ihn damit zur gr\u00f6\u00dften und vielleicht emblematischsten Markthalle der Stadt. Eine weitere Besonderheit des Geb\u00e4udes ist, dass es mit einem Lebensmittel-, Kleider- und B\u00fcchermarkt genau genommen drei M\u00e4rkte beherbergt. Eine wahre Fundgrube f\u00fcr Rarit\u00e4ten wie Briefmarken, M\u00fcnzen, Comics oder Sammelkarten, wird der Markt sonntags zu einem beliebten Treffpunkt f\u00fcr Familien.
